Set up PanelConnect

PLEASE NOTE: If you have the 'Panel Connect' application on your home screen, follow the iOS uninstall process below before proceeding with installation.

1. Open the link in the email from 'PanelConnect' (Make sure you open it in iOS Safari)


2. Press the 'Sign in' button. You may be prompted by Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions pop-ups. You will need to accept all if you wish to take part in the panel


3. Follow the instructions on the website in your phone's browser, or alternatively continue reading below


4. Click on '1. Download the Profile' and press the blue 'Download' button
1. You will receive a download prompt. Press the 'Allow' button in order to download the profile
2. You may close the successful download prompt

5. Install the VPN Profile
1. Open your device 'Settings', navigate to General > Profile and tap on 'PanelConnect VPN Profile'
2. Tap the 'Install' button on the top right in order to install the profile
3. Tap the 'Done' button on the top right once you go through all the installation steps

6. Trust the certificate:


1. Open your device Settings and go to General > About
2. Scroll down and go to 'Certificate Trust Settings'
3. Press the 'Research Panel CA' toggle to switch it on
4. Press 'Continue' on the Root Certificate prompt

7. You're all set up! The icon will be visible on the top-left corner when PanelConnect is active

iPhone/iPad (iOS) Uninstall Process

If you don't have the PanelConnect app on any of your home screens (or list of apps) proceed to the VPN section below

Application

1. Ensure the iPhone is on the Home screen
2. Locate the PanelConnect app
3. Press and hold the application until the icon begins to 'shake'
4. Tap the 'x' which is now visible on the top left of the icon
5. When prompted, confirm you would like to delete the application


6. 

VPN

1. Ensure the iPhone is on the Home screen
2. Open your device Settings and go to General > Profile
3. Tap the 'RealityMeterCA'(or the 'PanelConnect VPN Profile' if you are using the solution without the home screen app)
4. Tap the 'Remove Profile' button
5. When prompted, confirm you would like to remove the profile; you may be asked for your device unlock pin

Install the PanelConnect App

1. Use your device to click on the link provided in the SMS or email
2. You will be re-directed to the Google Play app, where you will see the PanelConnect app. Tap 'Install' to start your installation
3. A screen will appear titled 'PanelConnect needs access to'. Tap 'Accept' and the download should start
4. Once the download and installation process is complete, open the PanelConnect app.
   
   At this stage, you may be prompted for an email address - simply enter the email address which is associated with your ShopandScan account.


5. 

Install the VPN

1. Read the overview and tap 'Next'
2. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions
3. Install the the VPN:


1. Tap 'Next' to start installing the VPN
2. A dialogue box will appear. You will need to check 'I trust this application' and then tap 'OK' to complete the VPN install

4. Install the VPN certificate:


1. Tap 'Next' to start installing the VPN certificate
2. Android requires that a screen lock is enabled on the device for the installation of certificates. If you do not already have a screen lock the app will ask you to configure one
3. Confirm you're happy with the certificate name - the default is 'PanelConnect' but you may change this if you wish
4. Tap 'OK' to complete the certificate installation

5. Accessibility Permission:


1. Tap 'Next'
2. The app should redirect you to your device's accessibility settings
3. Under Services select 'PanelConnect'
4. Slide the toggle to the 'On' position to allow accessibility permissions for PanelConnect
5. Tap 'OK' on the dialogue box that appears to confirm this change

6. Upon returning to the app, you should now see a tick with the confirmation that the PanelConnect app is now running as per the below:

Note: The instructions and menu wording may vary slightly between different Android devices and/or OS versions. If you're having any difficulty installing PanelConnect please contact the helpdesk.

Application

1. Ensure the device is on the home screen
2. Select 'Settings'
3. When in the 'Settings' screen, choose 'Apps' (or 'Manage Apps')
4. Select 'PanelConnect' from the list
5. Tap 'Uninstall'
6. A dialog box appears, confirm you want to uninstall the application


7. 

Certificate

1. Ensure the device is on the home screen
2. Go to your device's Trusted Credentials. Here are two potential ways to access this.
   
   Open your devices Settings and go to:
   
   
1. Security > Trusted Credentials
2. Security > Encryption & Credentials > Trusted Credentials


3. Note: The above should be used as guides but may not exactly match the options on your device


3. Tap on the 'User' tab and select the 'PanelConnect' certificate
4. Tap on the 'Remove' option and confirm this in the following dialogue box to remove the certificate
