Q1. Why do you want images of my receipts? We need them so that we can collect important information on the amount that our Panel Members pay for their individual shopping items. Back to top Q2. What if I don't have a scanner or digital camera to send the receipts to you? Please let us know if you do not have a digital camera or a Flatbed scanner. We will make a note in our records and make sure you do not receive any reminders asking you to submit receipt images. Please let us know if you purchase one of these items in future, and wish to submit till receipts. We will then re- activate Self-Scan on your account. In the meantime please carry on using your barcode scanner to scan ALL of your shopping trips. Back to top Q3. Do I need to send receipts if I can't scan my barcodes? Yes. Submit the receipts even if your barcode scanner is not working properly or if you are waiting for replacement parts. Back to top Q4. What if the receipt includes some items for someone else? Submit the receipt anyway, even if some items are not for you. We can sort out the relevant ones we need. Back to top Q5. What if I can't scan all the items that are shown on the receipt? Submit the receipt even if you have been unable to scan all of the barcodes from the items shown on it. Back to top Q6. Do you still want my barcodes if I'm not sending receipts? Yes please, we still want you to scan ALL of your shopping as normal, even if you are unable to supply a receipt. Back to top Q7. Do you want receipts for everything I scan? We only require receipts from the shops that are shown on the list. We don't need receipts for shops that are not on there. Back to top Q8. How do I scan Long/Double-sided Till Receipts? Cut the till-receipts into sections (up to 3 parts) and scan them as separate images, if they are very long. When you upload the till receipts use the option "A single receipt split between multiple image files" and send the images as separate files of the same receipt. You can also use this option to submit two images for double-sided till receipts. Alternatively you can place the split till receipts side by side and scan them as a single image. When you upload the till receipts use the option "Single receipt in each image file." and send the images as one file of the same split receipt. Back to top Q9. Do I send receipts for internet shopping? Yes please, send any receipts for those shops on the Store List, even if purchasing over the internet. Back to top Q10. Can I send them by post or as email attachments? No, we are unable to process them and you wouldn't receive your points for sending them that way. Back to top Q11. Large Images or slow uploads You will see a warning about Large Images if the average size of each image uploaded is over 1MB. You may find that the process takes a long time if you upload several large images. To speed things up you can try to reduce the resolution or change the image into black & white to reduce the size. Please refer to your scanner manual to do this. Try to change the scanner settings to these recommended settings: - Resolution: 75dpi/ppi or 25% as long as it's readable - Type: Greyscale (black & white) Back to top Q12. How to Submit Till Receipts? Please log on to the website and Click on 'Submit Till Receipts'. Then login using your Panel Number and Date of Birth. Now click on the browse boxes to choose the images you want to send. Click open on the box then submit. Back to top Q13. Useful Tips on Scanning Till receipts
Q14. Can I check the details of my recent till receipts uploaded ? Yes. There's now a link "Click here to view details of recent uploads" next to the Submit button at the bottom of the page, so you can check your previous submissions if unsure whether they were sent, or to check on the time received. Back to top Q15. Do I scan barcodes for all of my shopping trips or only those trips that you want receipts for?
